Blue Ash Rd: 30 day parking restriction
update: *** Please note full road closure, starting Mon April 8th. This will be done on a rolling BLOCK by BLOCK basis. Anticipate block closure is 2 days for each block. This is for utility pole placement. ***
As part of the Blue Ash Road Improvement Project, the utility poles are being upgraded. Duke Energy needs the space along the railroad to safely and efficiently do this portion of the project. We appreciate your patience as the parking is limited during the day for approximately 30 days, beginning Mon March 25, 2019. You will see 'no parking 8 am - 7 pm' signs posted along the R/R track parking. Work is being done from Duneden to the north corporation line.
Tax Deadline April 15
Please be reminded that your local city tax return for tax 2018 is due by midnight of April 15, 2019. Postmarked (if mailed) by April 15, or dropped off at the city bldg. There is a drop box in the municipal parking lot. Office hours are Mon - Fri 8 am - 4:30 pm, office may be closed for lunch, you may want to call ahead to check. 513-794-8863. Extensions to file (not to pay) are granted if you also have a federal tax extension.
Duke Energy Pipeline Open Public Hearing
FYI: RE: Duke Energy proposed gas pipeline: The Ohio Power Siting Board is hosting an Open Public Hearing on Thursday, March 21st from 3PM-8PM at UC Blue Ash Muntz Hall (9555 Plainfield Rd, Blue Ash OH 45236) to allow statements from members of the affected public who are not parties to the case. (An initial public hearing was held in June 2017.)
Additionally, ref: the OPSB Evidentiary Hearing: The evidentiary (adjudicatory) hearing will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 9, 2019, to allow parties to the case to provide sworn testimony and cross-examine witnesses. This hearing will take place at the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio (PUCO) at:

Strategic Planning Session
On Saturday, January 19th, City Council members, Elected Officials and City Staff members participated in a Strategic Planning session to discuss an action plan for the City of Deer Park. The meeting was facilitated by Ohio Plan Management Resources. There were breakout sessions and group discussions and a great sharing of ideas and concerns. We are currently working on a list of top priorities for 2019. Watch for more updates as we finalize our plan.
Deer Park Alumni and former students
Attention former Deer Park Students/Alumni: There is a monthly gathering at the Francis R Healy Community Center for all those that attended Deer Park Schools. Meet Ups are generally the 2nd Wednesday of the month, at noon. Next two gatherings scheduled: Wed Feb 13, 2019 & Wed March 13, 2019. Bring your own lunch. Eat, chat and catch up. DPHS State champions
Mayor Donnellon acknowledged two Deer Park High School State Championships at the City Council meeting on November 26, 2018. Coach Hank Estes, far right, (1977 Boys Baseball (Class AA) Champions) and Coach Steve Gentry, center, (2018 Boys Basketball (Division III) Champions) were on hand to receive copies of the signs that will be posted publicly in the City.
Youth Mental Health Course
Deer Park High School will be hosting a course on how to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental illnesses and substance use disorders. This 8-hour training gives adults who work with youth the skills they need to reach out and provide initial support to adolescents (ages 12-18) who may be developing a mental health or substance use problem and help connect them to the appropriate care.
Sign Up to attend: When: December 1st, 8:00am to 5:00pm. Plan to arrive by 7:45am. Lunch Provided.
