The year 2001 marked the dedication of the new Veterans Memorial. Many thanks to Harvey Alcorn, and all of the people who donated time and resources to make this dream a reality. Bricks may be purchased to honor a Veteran or family member. Click here to order a dedication brick.
In 2021, we partnered with the Kolar Institute, Human Nature, Bayer Becker, Red Tiger Investments and Kleingers Group, to do a study on the Park. Three community input sessions were held in October, November and December asking for input on the changes they would like to see in the park. At the same time, a survey was posted on our website and the response from both was great. The two top suggestions were for a Music Pavilion and a Water feature to be added to the park. In December, City Manager BJ Jetter along with our partners went to Columbus to request funds from the State Budget for this project.
