Deer Park Makes Recycling Easy

What if in less than five minutes a day you could reduce pollution, conserve resources, and save landfill space? You can if you recycle. When you recycle, the pop cans, milk jugs, and newspapers are used to make new products, reducing the need to mine for metals, drill for oil, or log for timber. And Deer Park makes recycling easy!

How to Recycle

How do you start? Residents simply call the City of Deer Park at 794-8860 to get your free recycling bin.

What to Recycle

Many of the items you use everyday are recyclable. You can recycle:

  • steel, aluminum, and tin cans

  • #1 and #2 plastic bottles and jugs

  • glass bottles and jars

  • office paper

  • junk mail

  • paperboard (cereal boxes, etc.)

  • cardboard

Remember not to include pizza boxes, plastic butter tubs, plastic bags, or the lids to bottles and jars.

To make recycling even easier, there is no need to sort the items you recycle. Put everything together in your bin and place it near the curb on garbage collection day. Once you start recycling, you will be amazed at how little trash your family creates and you can feel good that you are helping to conserve resources and reduce pollution.

If you have questions about recycling, call Hamilton County’s Recycling Hotline at 946-7766.
